WHAT IS A MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLAN?
The purpose of a Medicare Supplement Plan is to fill in the gaps in coverage that Medicare Parts A and B do not pay.
For example, coinsurance, yearly deductibles, and copayments. Normally you would be responsible for paying those out of pocket expenses with your Medicare Plan.
Medicare will pay its share of the A and B approved health care costs, then your Medigap policy pays its share.
You'll receive the same benefits year after year and have guaranteed renewable coverage.
ELIGIBILITY FOR MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLANS
To enroll in a Medicare supplement plan you must meet one of the following requirements.
- You are currently covered under Medicare Parts A & B
- You are within six (6) months of turning 65 (In some states under age 65 with a disability and/or end stage renal disease)
- You are within six (6) months of receiving Part B coverage
- If you are about to lose your group health insurance plan
